Mitsubishi started taking orders for the Minicab MiEV – in early April,one of eight plug-in vehicles that the Japanese automaker intends to launch by the end of 2015. Now, Mitsubishi reports that Japan's Yamato Takyubin Delivery Company has placed a 100-unit order for the electric Minicab.

2011 Mitsubishi Global Small Concept – E-compact

Mitsubishi Global Small Concept is powered by a three-cylinder MIVEC gasoline engine, but when the production model debuts in 2012, 1.0- and 1.2-liter three-cylinder engines will also be offered. Both mills will be equipped with start-stop technology and regenerative braking. Beyond the pair of gasoline-engine models, Mitsubishi is expected to fit the Global Small Concept with an electric powertrain.

2011 Mitsubishi i-MiEV

Mitsubishi decided to "fatten-up" the North American version of the i-MiEV, and make it bigger than its Japanese- and European-spec counterparts.
